We are excited to announce OZTek's new freediving conference program, sponsored by RAID International and Deeper Blue. It's the first time a technical diving conference has included freediving - tech's edgy cousin - as an integral part of its program.
RAID’s freediving examiner and instructor trainer Thibault Guignés, who holds the French Free Immersion (FIM) record at 112m (set in July 2018) and is based in the Philippines, will be one of our featured presenters. We are also pleased to present freediving pioneer Kirk Krack, founder & CEO of Performance Freediving International (PFI) who will be speaking about the emerging “technical (mixed gas) freediving.” His partner, seven-time world record holder, Mandy-Rae Krack, PFI instructor and administrator will also be speaking.
Alongside them is Amber Bourke, the current Australian pool and depth freediving champion, SSI instructor trainer and MARES Ambassador, who has set nine Australian freediving records. Amber will be speaking about freediving and marine animal interaction.
A recent addition to our Freediving lineup is Adam Sellars - Adam is a PADI Freediving instructor who has excelled in many sports at a high level, and who is selected to represent Australia in the Caribbean world cup of freediving after only two years of competing.
Former Divers’ Alert Network research director Dr. Neal Pollock, currently Research Chair in Hyperbaric and Diving Medicine at Laval University, Quebec, will talk about what we know and what we don’t know about freediving physiology, and areas where more research is needed.
In addition to presentations, OZTek’s program will feature a lively panel discussion on freediving safety, mixed gas use, hunting, breath hold photography, and other topics. We will also be featuring breath hold videos and photography.
Some of the topics covered are freediving safety, improving your bottom time, equalisation methods, training, technical ‘mixed-gas’ freediving, current physiological issues, computing, spearfishing safety, along with breath-hold photography, and marine interactions.
There are, not surprisingly, many cross over techniques to help divers improve air consumption, streamlining and even, mixed-gas use.For more information on our freediving Sponsors go to:RAID - www.freedivingraid.com & Deeper Blue - https://www.deeperblue.com/
